Getting Maestro is easy. Here’s how it works.
1. Connect
Sign up online and one of our team will handle the setup for you.
Maestro connects to appliances you already have like space heaters, heat pumps (coming soon!), and EVs charged with a standard 3‑pin plug.
It doesn’t matter what energy retailer you’re with. Set up is quick and there’s no electrician required - so you can use Maestro whether you rent or own your home.
2. Use
Keep using your appliances as normal.
Maestro works cleverly in the background automatically shifting your energy use to times that are the best for you and the grid. Maestro is designed to work for you. It learns usage patterns, so these shifts shouldn’t be noticeable.
Importantly you’re always in control. You can override Maestro at any time, instantly.
3. Collect
Twice a year we’ll credit you with a payment.
By easing demand on the electricity grid, Maestro earns payments from grid operators, and we share that payment with you. The more connected appliances you have, the more you can earn - up to $200* a year.
With space heaters and heat pumps, Maestro can also reduce your power bill.
* Actual rewards will vary depending on factors such as property location, the number and type of connected appliances, overall household energy use, and individual usage behaviours. Annual rewards of up to $200 (NZD) are estimated, based on modelling for a New Zealand home with one EV, one heat pump, and one space heater connected to Maestro.
